Joseph G. Whitener

Bio:

My practice is concentrated in state and federal criminal defense. I began my career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Missouri State Public Defender's Office. I have handled thousands of criminal cases, ranging from misdemeanors to the most serious and complex felonies.  I have successfully tried over two dozen cases to a jury, and have consistently obtained favorable results, including not guilty verdicts for clients charged with murder, rape, assault, armed criminal action, robbery, and DWI, among others.

I am one of the only lawyers in Missouri to have successfully represented a client in an SVP civil commitment trial before a jury. I have also represented businesses, governmental entities, and law enforcement officers in criminal investigations and various civil proceedings. I approach each case with the same unwavering commitment to my client's best interest.  And my objective is always to obtain the best possible result for my client.
